[ubuntu] miss Ubuntu

Hey,

I've been a Linux user for oo about 18 months now. I used Ubuntu for about 16 of those and decided to move to Debian Lenny. Bad decision

I used it about 4 times and kept running into trivial problems that were a breeze on Hardy! Debian didn't just work. Even the package manager wanted to remove all my packages and the sources.list was broken straight from install. Getting my Nvidia driver was a pain in the a55 too.

And the release of Folding@Home GPU has kept me on Windows a LOT. (Can't wait for the Linux client!!).

A quick congratz to the developers, can't be easy making an OS to be easy, stable and friendly withing 6 months but you did it. everytime. And Ubuntu just works!

I'm going to test Ibex in a virtual machine soon (22% d/l) hopefully i wont be dissapointed and should be back on Buntu soon

(ok this is in wrong section xD move accordingly.)

Why do you say that? I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just curious as I'm new to Linux as a whole and still exploring my options.

Windows only currently.

It's MAJORLY buggy. And a Linux client is in the making

Good to hear man, yeah I've been using Ubuntu for about 19 months, and I think Ubuntu is one of the best Linux distributions out to date, and remember any problems just post back on the forums.

That is the CPU based Folding@Home client, whereas the OP wishes for the GPU based one, which is much faster.
